Getting Ready for 2010….here are some of the 2009 activities...

This summer, we had a great time at the invitation of “Funky Monkeys” to do a day demo at the SJ Tech Museum running our robots and showing them to the visitors. Then Summer BBQ picnic along with Cupertino HS Robotics. What a great team to ask us to join in! The best of cooperation.

Following the WRRF Workshops, the Gear Heads hosted a PTC instruction set of Fall 2009 workshops on Windchill, Mathcad, and ProE tools. This training was specifically developed for FIRST Robotics by PTC and proved to be a real learning experience for the Gear Heads and 6 other teams from northern CA. It took 3 long Saturdays to complete the PTC HOW Workbook exercises, but it was great to see how powerful the programs are.

Off season is a great time to show off the robot design to future roboticists at Middle school and the San Jose Tech Museum with Lynbrook Robotics Team.

Gear Heads first volunteered for the Toys4Tots event as part of the BAE Systems Sponsored Robotics Teams in 2008 and again at the 2009 Christmas Party on December 20th at the Santa Clara fairgrounds.

As a rookie team, we don’t have a great deal of experience to offer other teams, but with our great sponsor and supporter, PTC, we can present the software programs that PTC provides to all teams. So, this fall, we worked with the PTC Webinars that PTC developed and presented them at WRRF Workshops at SCU.
