Getting our feet wet with the loan of another team’s robot, the Gear Heads went into the CAL Games to learn about Robotics Competition and had a great time.

2008 WRRF CAL Games—San Jose  10/2008

The Team’s first FIRST competition as a Rookie was an Eye-Opener...but FANTASTIC.  The Team and Robot performed exceptional– ranking 14th in qualifications and garnering the “Highest Rookie Seed” and “Rookie Allstar” Awards.

2009 Silicon Valley Regional— San Jose 3/2009

What a great Regional….best of weather, environment...the greatest of people; friendly, warm, just real family...and they compete.  Beach surf, BBQ Lunch, Luau— Wow!  Two Gear Heads had lunch with the Governor and Lt. Governor of Hawaii and other super dignitaries… And the most exciting finals….neck and neck to the last match—Gear Heads and the greatest alliance of Farrington and Punahu held the excitement to finish as the Regional Finalist.

2009 Hawaii Regional— Honolulu 3/2009

Atlanta was the place to see how the “Big Boys” do it...year after year.  Some of the greatest competition was amazing to watch.  And amazing to meet the caliper of teams that play there.  Someday…….

Off Season Competition...a great way to get the skills back and immerse new team members to the thrill of competition.  Great to have the WRRF CAL Games and the First “MadTown Throwdown” experiences...relaxed, low key, and FUN>!!!
