About Us |
|
The Gear Heads is a Robotics Club that resides in Prospect High School of the Campbell Union High School District. Gear Heads is a Competition Team focused on competing in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). Most of the Club activities and processes are designed to mirror the real world of industrial design and product competition. This give early insight to students of careers and experiences that they can expect and select for their future. It’s more than a robotic competition. It’s about leadership, managing complex projects with fixed schedules and it’s about how to creatively innovate toward an objective….and a future. |

It all started as an advertisement by BAE to it’s employees to encourage them to start robotic teams. This seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately we were unable to compete in that competition year. The next school year we were able to put the school Robotics Team Up. We borrowed a robot from Pioneer High School’s Robotics Team and entered in the Regional. After the Cal Games, We entered into the FIRST competition and built our first robot SPARK. We entered it into the Silicon Valley and Hawaii Regional's. We received the Rookie All Star Award and the Rookie top seed awards at the Silicon Valley regional. At Hawaii we were Finalist and after that we went to Atlanta. |
